I wanted a practice setup that was as realistic as possible. So I built my own.
It's still in a prototype stage, but works great. It uses the output from the delay box on my bike and has an adjustable runout setting so I can match it to the real world launch numbers. Prestage and stage beams work just like they do at the track, but there are 5 additional beams past stage in 1 inch increments to show how deep I staged. ( Gotta practice that too ) I even hook the line lock up to shop air so I can feel the rear brake grab when I'm on the button.
The tree itself contains, and is run completely on, a raspberryPi with a wifi adapter. This allows me to use my network attached laptop as a control interface. The code is some of my early work in C++, so it's too embarassing to publish on my github page, but that's coming soon.
Check out a video of what I call practice
